Actresses Michelle Rodriguez and Eva Longoria, Argentine soccer star Leo Messi and Mexican singer Gerardo Ortiz were honored at the 2nd Premios Tu Mundo Awards, presented by the U.S. Latin channel Telemundo.
These prizes celebrate the best of pop culture in Spanish, including music, fashion, television and sports in more than 20 categories.
The public, which voted via social networks, awarded top honors to the novela "La Patrona," while its star, Mexican actress Aracely Arambula, was chosen Favorite Lead Actress and together with Cuban actor Jorge Luis Pila received the prize for The Perfect Couple for the same TV series.
One of the most important prizes of the night went to Eva Longoria, who received the ALMA de Tu Mundo (Soul of Your World) Award for her philanthropic and humanitarian work for Latinos in the United States.
After saying thanks to her parents for their support and their love, the actress received a sustained ovation from the audience at Miami's American Airlines Arena.
One of the most applauded moments of the night came when reggaeton star Tito El Bambino presented the Musical Power Award to reggaeton pioneer and fellow Puerto Rican Daddy Yankee.
The event was hosted by popular telenovela actress Gaby Espino and Mexican actor Aaron Diaz.
